Welcome!

Dates for the 2009 Summer Program: June 29th thru July 31st

What Is Food For Thought?

Health – By being active and learning how to eat well, we take important steps toward a long, healthy life. The availability of local foods and organic vegetables are part of the overall health of any community.
Nutrition—As we cook and grow foods, we study and talk about their ingredients, additives, and food values; what the labels tell us about contents, what to avoid and what to eat more of.
Green Jobs—We work hard and earn our stipends. Leadership, teamwork, goal-setting, are valuable skills we will use throughout life.
Fun and Satisfaction--Doing interesting things with a group of serious peers and inspiring adults is real, not trivial, fun.
